This course addresses the concept of the school curriculum and its relationship to learning and educational objectives, and the determinants of the school curriculum (social and cultural change; learner characteristics and needs; theories of learning and development; theories of knowledge; and social and political philosophy), the components of the school curriculum (objectives, content, methods, and assessment), and planning for classroom instruction, with appropriate reference to curricula for basic education, e-learning, and open education. It also covers the foundations for constructing modern curricula and their evaluation, and the concept of the textbook and the concept of the textbook guide.

Examines the concept of language and speech and the development of the child's language across different age stages, with particular emphasis on vocabulary and sentence length; addresses factors affecting language development in children and certain childhood language disorders, their diagnosis and methods of treatment/intervention; explores knowledge—its concept and types—and human learning and the acquisition of various cognitive concepts such as color, number, size and others; studies children's thinking in its different forms and the development of perception, comprehension and participation, as well as listening, reading, writing, memory and problem solving; and the support and nurturing of the child's various knowledge domains at home and at school.

This course provides an introduction to psychology, covering its history, theoretical schools, branches (subfields) of psychology, research methods in psychology, the biological bases of behavior, personality, psychological disorders, and psychotherapeutic treatment methods.

Definitions of play and its importance; the concept of play; the development of play in the history of education; a comparative assessment of Freud's and Piaget's views on play; theories of play; functions of play in the child's life; organization of children's play; stages of play development and its progression from unstructured activity to differentiated play; play for special groups of children; classification of games by their educational and psychological value; play and personality development; traditional children's games; classification of games by number of players and level of organization; classroom and non-classroom play; educational issues.

The course covers the philosophy, origins and development of kindergarten; the early educators (Pestalozzi, Froebel, Montessori); the concept of the curriculum in kindergarten, the principles for its construction and its objectives; contemporary trends in child education; the kindergarten teacher—her characteristics, the roles she performs and her preparation; and the management of the educational process in kindergarten.

This course introduces psychology as an independent science: its nature, origins and development; its fields, branches and schools; and its defining characteristics. The course also covers research methods in the psychological sciences; the components of human behavior and their determinants. It examines child psychological development and its relation to socialization; motives, attitudes, values, and emotions; intellectual abilities; and mental processes such as attention, perception, memory, and forgetting. The course further addresses the psychology of learning and its theories; an introduction to psychometrics; the concept of personality and its theories; and mental health, including manifestations of adaptive and maladaptive behavior.

The cell; biophysical processes in the cell; biochemical processes in the cell; human body systems; nutrition, health and disease; patient care; care of the skin, hair and feet; common health problems; diversity of living organisms, including the animal kingdom and the plant kingdom; humans and the environment.

This course covers the study of matter and its properties; atoms of the elements, their periodic arrangement, and chemical bonds; motion and Newton's laws; energy and its types; light, electricity, and magnetism; the cell, tissues, and organs; human body systems and their physiological functions; recent developments in biology; the universe and its main components; the solar system; meteorological observation; and space exploration.
