The course reviews the directing methods and styles developed by directors of different nationalities, such as the model of Duke George II in "Meiningen", the directors of realism and naturalism (Antoine, Appia, Paul Fort, and Liné Beaux), the French directors in the interwar period (Jacques Copeau and his students), and the Russian directors in the period before and after the revolution (Mayer Hold, Tairov, Akhlabkov, Max Reinhardt, Brecht, Artaud, Barot, Grotowski, and Peter Brook). This course also introduces students to the most important methods of modern Arab theater directing

A specialized course that reviews the historical development of theatrical methods and their functions from the Greek era and other theatrical eras. Students will be able to understand the differences and advantages of different theatrical styles through workshops, applications, etc. They will learn how to design, decorate and paint based on various historical methods.

This course seeks to enhance students' creativity in the field of acting through practical training in improvisation, acting, and simulation, by choosing typical characters and exciting and sarcastic topics. It also aims to teach students how to use verbal and non-verbal improvisation to transform from the actor's real character to the role-playing character. In this course, students address Stanislavsky's assessment of the actor and the formation of the theatrical character theoretically and practically. Students also act out some scenes.

This course introduces students to Arab theatre, and addresses several topics, most notably: Arab culture and theatre, traditional theatrical styles (storytelling, shadow theatre, circular theatre, and improvised entertainment), the Arab theatrical renaissance, and its pioneers in Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco, Western influence, contemporary Arab theatre, and Gulf theatre.

This course aims to shed light on the relationship between theater and psychology, in addition to clarifying the impact of psychoanalysis on various theatrical approaches between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. During the course, students study several critical approaches to psychoanalytic theories to understand the themes and characters related to artistic works by selecting and analyzing various models presented in some plays.

This course delves into the history of the development of theater and its arts, and discusses the most important changes that occurred in architectural designs, the shape of the stage, and theatrical techniques, such as lighting and plays of the Greek, Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, and Elizabethan eras. This course aims to enhance students' potential in text analysis through in-depth study of selected theatrical works. This course is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to understand the process of textual analysis, as they obtain aids in analyzing dramatic structure, characters, language, and artistic styles and methods. Students will also learn about examples of international and Arab plays, and will learn to write these models that belong to different schools. Then, they will present analytical readings of texts related to dramatic structures, themes, historical and cultural contexts, and the director’s vision.

In it, students learn several topics, including: the expressive and conceptual meaning of criticism, the history of criticism, and how it developed within theatrical development throughout history. They also learn about the critic's task, his cultural and theatrical sources, and the importance of theatrical criticism
