This course aims to develop the student’s self-confidence and to teach correct standing in front of the audience and the appropriate use of body language. It also trains students to improvise speeches, prepare and deliver, and focuses on two types of speeches: speeches aimed at presenting information and speeches aimed at convincing the listener.

This course aims to introduce students to information technology used in translation and discusses the following topics: machine translation, translation memories, terminology management, databases, linguistic repertoires, mechanization, parsing, and information extraction. It also defines the stages of translation, and reviews a sample of commercially available translation software.

This course aims to introduce students to the English language used in the field of business administration, including structuring companies, meetings, submitting job applications and professional interviews, writing basic business correspondence, telephone calls, and social relations related to business administration.

This course aims to train students in the methods of writing press and radio reports, listening to the news, adapting and monitoring televised news, reading serious newspapers daily, and developing the skills of conducting interviews, covering and editing news.

This course aims to develop basic skills in collecting information, study skills, and linguistic research. It is particularly concerned with effective Internet research methods, time management, goal formulation, note-taking, critical reading, problems of research planning and application, and quantitative and qualitative research methods appropriate to linguistic phenomena.

This course aims to introduce students to the basic principles of morphology, and discusses the main methods of constructing words such as derivation, borrowing, compounding, and conversion. It also addresses issues such as collocation, multiword units, semantic relationships, semantic change, and lexical types

This course aims to introduce students to simple sentence structure, and trains them to analyze the sentence into its basic components in terms of category and grammatical function. It also pays special attention to simple, compound, and complex sentence types.

This course aims to introduce students to some advanced grammatical topics, such as compound and complex sentences, and nominal and adverbial sentences. It also focuses on sub-sentences that function as adjectives, subjunctive ones, and interjective and declarative sentences.

This course deals with the study of the branches of traditional knowledge of linguistics, the study of the origin of language, definitions of language, the study of the general principles of the semantic, grammatical and morphological levels of linguistic analysis, the emergence of linguistics and its development since the end of World War II, and the language of instruction is Arabic.
