Specialization guide
Chemistry laboratory for medical sciences
This course presents the basic ideas for the practical application of general chemistry, familiarization with laboratory safety instructions and laboratory tools, experiments in qualitative analysis (chemical tests for some anions and cations), quantitative analysis (experiments to determine the elementary formula of a compound, the specific reactant, the molecular weight of a volatile liquid, Faraday's constant, molar solubility and the dissolution product, volumetric analysis, and the electrolysis cell).
Surface chemistry and colloids
This course presents the basic ideas of colloidal chemistry: introduction to surface and colloid chemistry, structure of surface and adsorbent layers, liquid films on the surface, devices used in surface chemistry and colloids, physical properties of colloidal particles, preparation of colloidal solutions - their types, applications, stability of colloidal systems, characterization of colloidal systems, colloidal dissolution), coagulation phenomena, emulsion and microemulsion and their applications, chemical equilibria: the set of three components
biochemistry
This course introduces basic ideas in biochemistry covering the chemistry of biologically important chemicals, such as carbohydrates, amino acids, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids; and metabolic pathways; and vitamins, paying great attention to nomenclature in biological systems and the importance of stereochemistry
General chemistry
This course presents the basic ideas of general chemistry covering the atomic molecular structure of matter, scientific measurements, elements and compounds, the periodic table, moles and chemical calculations, reactions in aqueous solutions, redox reactions, quantum chemistry and electronic distribution, chemical bonds, and theories related to the shapes of compounds.
Automated analysis methods laboratory
This course provides some practical experiments in instrumental analysis that include qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis by various methods such as: UV/visible spectroscopy, flame intensity measurement, infrared absorption spectroscopy, electrolysis methods, high-performance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography.
Chemistry laboratory
This course provides practical applications of general chemistry, familiarization with laboratory safety instructions and laboratory tools, qualitative analysis (chemical tests for some anions and cations), quantitative analysis (experiments to determine: the density of solids and liquids, the elementary formula of a compound, the specific reactant, experiments that include: chemical calculations, volumetric analysis, chemicals used in daily life).
Organic chemistry laboratory
This course presents the basic ideas in practical organic chemistry, separation and purification of organic compounds, preparation of compounds using different techniques, and identification of the effective groups of organic compounds.
